The Call

Hey how was talking with Ben? How long did he get? and also how did the blessing go? Love you! Here are pictures too...There is a picture with Lynette and Jose (1st baptism) then there is my whole Zone for the second transfer, Me and a great sign! Grandmas treats she sent me! (MMM GOOD) then there is Christmas day with the Roses (Porter and Talmage play violin and cello) and the whole rose family, and then there is the recent convert Deedee and her roommate they gave us scarfs and mittens for Christmas, and then we decorated a jewish ginger bread house last week but made it a beach house instead :)

Christmas Week and Transfers!

Hey everyone! So I am getting transferred out of Whittier into the Lakewood zone, but I think it is actually in Cerritos....I am not sure at all. I am excited to meet people there but I am kinda saddened about leaving Whittier and all of the people here and Sister Folsom. I know that this new area will be good though and have heard good things about it...not that that matters because apparently Whittier West zone wasn't a good area to be in but Sister Folsom and I have had much success in the area. SO really it is all about attitude. Besides we wouldn't have missionaries where God hasn't prepared people.

This past week we had a great finding story! So Sister Folsom contacted a guy at the library last week while we were emailing and got his address and on Friday we went to go contact him...well we were walking down trying to find the right house when we met a lady named Julie and we started talking with her about the gospel and she seemed pretty open she said it was okay that we come back and referred us to her husband. Said that he really needed God in his life at this time. She told us where she lived and we discovered after she kept walking to her destiny that it was the same house as the man we were going to contact. So we decided that we would just come back at the return appointment that we had made. It was awesome! So we went and saw them yesterday well him, the wife wasn't there. But we made another return apt and am excited for him to keep progressing. It was a miracle the way everything happened though!
Happy Birthday to Rachel tomorrow!!!! Hope she enjoys her 18th Birthday! You are so OLD!!!! HOLY COW! I am sending a package she has presents and it will also have my quad in it for Chad to use! Thanks for all the presents and letters! I got the wards letters! That was super sweet!

Happy New Year!

Addresses

Hey so items of need currently are:

Anthony and Mckaes Address,
Stuart's Address,
Cooper's address,
That would be super helpful!

Christmas is coming! Mom thanks for sending that stuff!!! I really appreciate it. And Aunt Josee. I don't know what I have gotten yet if you sent it to the office I would hope it is there but I might not get it until Thursday. Unfortunately. But that is okay. Aunt Josee wasn't I suppose to wait until Christmas to open it? I am not going to cheat myself by opening it sooner, unless you wrapped whatever is in it. But My comp will check if it comes to that.  So yeah....Mom what ever you would like to send excluding would be great. I love the pictures of Jesus and temples that are smaller, remember the ones you bought me before I left? Oh and here is a story about those cards. So we wanted to contact this lady and she was walking infront of us and she had two little boys with her well I used the cards to get their attention and now we are going to go see her this week. Hopefully it continues to progress. I really liked the lady that we talked with. She was very open, friendly and well lots of potential. Pray for us! So yeah those pictures I have been giving away. Umm music that is like motab or whatever. I don't really need anything right now. Talk with aunt Josee I did give her a slight list a while back :)

So this past week we had the ward Christmas Party. It was such a success. It was awesome. We had 3 investigators come and a few less actives. We also met two different less active families who we are going to keep going by. They are very friendly and absolutely love us. There was a primary nativity which was ADORABLE! It made me slightly home sick actually, but I loved it! I love Christmas. We have been sharing a Christmas message which has been getting us into a few more doors than normal and I love it! I have also been asking families to read Luke Chapter 2 together as a family so I hope that every family will do this (Mom, Dianna, Anth, Will, Stuart, relatives...) Thanks! It will definately bring an added measure of Christmas Spirit in the homes and who doesn't want that around Christmas???

Deedee is doing great! Still just on a role...she has been reading with her roommate and we started working with another recent convert who is just super sweet. She was baptized the same day as Deedee and is just so strong in the gospel. She is always reminding people to be respectful of the gospel and the Spirit that way everyone can feel of God's love. These two women are both such huge examples to me of faith and I am slightly ashamed of the times I took being a member for granted.

Well the last of the month is coming, have you all taken Elder Ballards challenge and invited someone closer to Christ by talking with them about the gospel? If not do you have a plan to implement in the next two weeks?

I love you all!!!!

Strange things are Happenin' to......

Hey Everyone,

So this past week has been an adventure. My companion has been called as a sister training leader and so she had a meeting on Tuesday which went from a what we thought would be an hour training to a 5 hour training which was slightly a little crazy so I got rushed to another companionship and basically went on an exchange in someone elses area. It was great! Got to know the two sisters better. Sister Doyle is one of the sisters that was in our group who is, for those who came to my last sacrement talk prior to leaving and remember, Brandon's little sister. They are alike that is for sure! I loved it though! Anyways...so then we went on two exchanges and I was able to go with two different sisters in my area. So on Wednesday I was with Sister Aliki who is the one in the picture. She is from Tonga and we were able to do service for the member that we live with by helping her decorate her house for Christmas! It was so awesome! This was her first time ever decorating a Christmas tree and she was so excited about it! I love her enthusiasm! We also rode bikes which was also her first time and I just about died of a heart attack!!! Seriously, she kinda would ride in the middle of the rode and it was giving me some mommy moments when I see her life flashing before my eyes as a car comes. But she did really well. Super powerful missionary. Very spiritually prepared.

Then there was Thanksgiving. It was a great day. We made Aunt Josee's yam sufflet which wasn't as good as her's but edible and took it to Margaret (the one in the wheelchair from last week) and then we had mexican food. It was delicious. It was rice and beans and a type of beef and I can't even tell you what it was called with tortillas. Yummy! We took a pumpkin pie to a members house who was less active and struggling to have dessert , but her husband who was higher than high came in and touched it and so we felt like the safest thing to do was not partake of our yummy pie. It was interesting! But the member was very thankful because it was the only Thanksgiving food that she had that day.

I love seeing all the Christmas lights out here. Everyone has decked out for Christmas already and I absolutely love it! We listen to Christmas music that sister Folsom got and I just love Christmas!!! (Slightly missing the snow but it is okay...I will have plenty more Christmas's with Snow)

2Nephi chapter 4 has been just a great chapter for me this week! Check it out!
Mom, Ken, you are awesome to help the Missionaires...sometimes they really are very lost and need members help. Thats for sure! We definately rely on the members a ton!

Love you all!
